Mermaid helps deaf children’s charity
RYE’S historic Mermaid Hotel has raised £1,450 The National Deaf Children’s Society.
They raised the money through donations over Christmas and New Year and from annual raffles on Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve, where a Salmanazar of Moet & Chandon Champagne was raffled.
The cheque was presented to the local representative of the charity, Heather Fletcher, by Mermaid owner Robert Pinwill and his granddaughter, Elizabeth Kite, who was diagnosed deaf in November of last year.
