Charlie ran 60 miles in 24 hours and 35 minutes including 252 obstacles. He is hoping to raise £2,000 for the James Wentworth-Stanley Memorial fund for the prevention of suicide.

“Everything was going fine until around midnight,” he said, “people were passing out, I was exhausted and felt like giving up, then there was the cliff jump in the dark which I would not wish on anyone, but when I arrived at base camp I heard how many people had donated to my charity which gave me a huge boost. An hour after sunrise I reached my goal of competing 50 miles. The final lap was the worst. It was 11am, the sun was shining and I still had on my wet suit so I felt I was in an oven. Very few managed to complete the 24 hours so I feel very privileged to receive the back head band and brow bib. The whole experience and support has been nothing like I have ever experienced before.”
