Midhurst Community Bus celebrates charity status

It has already passed its milestone 21st birthday but on Friday supporters held a party to celebrate becoming a charity.

The Midhurst Community Bus which operates the Midhurst Yellow Bus - MYBUS - is now a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). Chairman of the trustees Nick Wheeler explained: “In simple terms, it means we are now a charity. The CIO structure was not available when the organisation was first set up back in 1995.”

He added: “We wanted to say thank you to all our supporters for all that they do to make the very important service we run possible. We are however looking to further improve our financial standing and see how we can better use our skills and resources to the benefit of Midhurst and the surrounding area.”
