Midhurst firefighters attend 'out of control' bonfire

Fire crews were called to an 'out of control' bonfire in Lavington this morning (Friday, September 10).

West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said the fire caused between 11 and 20 square metres of damage but fortunately there were 'no casuajlties as a result of the fire'.

A spokesperson said: "Joint Fire Control was alerted to reports of an out of control bonfire at a property on Church Road West in Lavington at 9.08am this morning.

"One crew from Midhurst Fire Station was mobilised to the scene and upon arrival extinguished the fire using one hose reel and a hydrant."
