Midhurst Museum gets funding boost

COMMUNITIES across the Midhurst and Petworth area have been given an £8,600 boost for projects.

The latest round of community initiative fund (CIF) funding has been announced at West Sussex County Council’s county local committee.

Midhurst Museum association has been given £1,800 towards a £2,500 project to buy new display cabinets.

The Empire Hall at Graffham has been awarded £1500 towards the £2,540 cost of replacing 20 chairs and curtains.

At Kirdford the village hall trustees have also been given £1500 towards a window replacement project.

And at Loxwood organisers of the annual fete have been given £800 towards the £1,108 needed to buy 12 tables.

Chairman of the committee Michael Brown said there was just short of £9,000 left to hand out in this financial year and he urged communities to get in their applications soon.

The last round of CIF grants this year will be announced at the March meeting.
