These included a dog bowl and toys for a puppy she intends to get, two paintings by a parent at the school, a clock and tickets to Glyndebourne. She in turn donated a stone statue to a quiet garden which the school is planning.

Mrs Webber is retiring after a 31-year teaching career.

She was deputy head and headteacher at Oakfield Middle School, Lancing, before coming to Steyning as headteacher for nine years.
