This was 60 per cent for Bexhill High and for the same results but for maths it got 56 per cent.

St Richard’s was one of 327 schools in the country to take part in the new Progress 8 scheme, which will be the new way schools are assessed.

Progress 8 looks at pupils’ progress in eight subjects instead of seeing how many GCSEs they got.

96 per cent of St Richard’s students were included and achieved an Attainment 8 – the average achievement – score of 57.5, which is higher than the UK average of state funded schools of 48.4.
