Mixed GCSE results in Hastings

Claremont School was the top-performing school in East Sussex with 83 per cent of children achieving five or more A*-Cs including English and maths in 2015.

But The Hastings Academy was one of two 1066 country schools below the government target of 40 per cent, with 36 per cent.

This year’s league table will be the last in the current format due to changes in how schools are ranked.

The two Ark secondary academies, William Parker and Helenswood, achieved 50 per cent and 62 per cent respectively.

Lastly The St Leonards Academy had a percentage of children getting the national benchmark of 58 per cent.

Claremont was also the highest achiever in the county in terms of percentage achieving the English Baccalaureatte of 60 per cent.

Saxon Mount School and New Horizons School did not provide details of their Key Stage 4 results.
