More charity cash from Bognor 10k

A GENEROUS top-up will mean more cash for charities.

Some 31 runners who took part in the Bognor Prom 10k will see their final totals boosted thanks to the Rotary Club of Bognor Hotham.

The speedy fundraisers all took advantage of the rotary club’s offer to top-up up their sponsorship money which raised more than £6,576 for 20 different charities.

The club pledged to increase whatever it raised from the overall surplus from the race and now all the figures are in and the bills paid, the club has decided to up its contribution by 75 per cent.

This means more than £4,900 has been added to the cheques sent out, including the club’s charity partner, L’arche.

Last year the club managed to raise through all of its other activities more than £26,000, thanks to the generosity of Bognor and the surrounding areas. Next year will be the 10k’s 20th anniversary and it is hoped even more cash for good causes will be collected.
