Caroline Spiby and her team were awarded gold in the toffee class for their toffee and honeycomb ice cream, which meant they once again took home the much-coveted Silver Challenge Cup.

They also won diplomas of merit in the dairy ice cream artisan class for their popular ‘double dairy’ flavour, for the chocolate class, their new ‘lime cheesecake’ summer flavour and their ‘blackberry fool’ in the open flavour class.

“These prestigious awards celebrate the best ice cream in the UK so to win a Gold Medal is really something to be proud of,” said Caroline. “ We are so pleased that all our hard work and passion has been recognised.”

The National Ice Cream Competition is run by The Ice Cream Alliance and is the only one of its kind in the UK judged by professionals.

Launched in 2008, Caroline’s Dairy produces handmade ice cream and sorbets from their working dairy farm in Sidlesham.

It supplies pubs, restaurants and farm shops across the South.
