More sports for Seaford

A WEALTH of new sporting opportunities look set to open up as Seaford Head Community College goes into partnership with Wave Leisure Trust.

The school announced its sports facilities at the Steyne Road site would be managed by the leisure trust outside of school hours from September 1 this year.

The aim it to encourage local clubs and organisations to bring their activities to the site, providing a regular programme of activities that the community can take part in.

The facilities will offer access to the sports hall, dance studio and climbing wall during evenings and weekends, with additional weekday usage available during the school holidays.

Managing director of Wave Leisure, Peter Crowley, said: “Over the last few months we have been working hard with our partners on being able to commence the operation of the facilities.

“It allows us the opportunity to be able to increase the provision of accessible activities for the whole community.”

Seaford Head Community College head teacher Lynton Golds, said: “Seaford Head Community College is delighted to be working in partnership with Wave Leisure to enable local people to share in the use of our superb sports facilities.”

Wave Leisure is a charitable not for profit trust that aims to provide affordable health and fitness facilities and activities in Lewes district.
