More than £500 raised at quiz in Hailsham

Nearly 100 people joined in the fun at Hailsham FM’s first fundraiser held at Grovelands School in Hailsham.

Teams battled against each other in a family quiz that covered a whole range of topics.

The winners, I’d Rather Be Playing With My X-Box, were presented with a bumper hamper overflowing with prizes including meal vouchers, cinema tickets, bowling tickets, event vouchers, tasty treats, and bottles of wine.

A raffle was also held with several prizes on offer and refreshments were served during the afternoon quiz, which is the first of several fund raising events earmarked for this year.

A spokeswoman for Hailsham FM said it would like to thank the following for their generous support: Grovelands School for allowing the use of their premises, and Hailsham Creative and Chapter 12 for financing the promotion of event. The spokeswoman said: “Many thanks also to all the volunteers who helped organise this successful afternoon. The total raised was £564 which is earmarked to help finance Hailsham FM’s involvement in this year’s Festival of Arts and Culture during September.”
