The church was decorated by the Lynchmere Flower Girls, who created a display of autumn colours with berries, fruit and vegetables and harvest loaves under the directon of Mary Biggs.

During the first hymn, children came to the altar bringing their food offerings and later in the service were divided into two teams to build enormous tractors out of Lego.

This was to remind the children that we all need to work together and that all produce comes from the land and farms.

The non perishable food was taken to Stonepillow, the Chichester charity looking after the homeless.

A voluntary choir trained by the organist Sanda Belcher sang Rutter’s ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’.

After the service a Bring and Buy sale in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care and the Rosemary Foundation was held, which raised £125.

Members of the congregation enjoyed the wonderful weather as well as the church’s view during a Bring and Share lunch in the churchyard.
