Most enjoyable outing
Middleton WI member Mrs Ursula Dengel was congratulated at the institute's June meeting as it was her sixtieth wedding anniversary that week.
Members all agreed the coach outing to Haskins was lovely and most came home laden with goods from the craft and garden centre.
As the scheduled speaker did not arrive Mrs Sue Watts read from a book called The Incoming Tide, about coastguards, buildings, families and smugglers in the olden days, from the Elmer Middleton area.
Then another member read some amusing anecdotes from another book.
