Mother and son say it with flowers at Pagham event

JUDITH Bishop and her son said it with roses at this year's Pagham open gardens day.

Visitors to their garden in Bishops Close marvelled at the array of colourful blooms.

Mrs Bishop said: “I told everyone to look at a pink rose called Angel Fishing Rod which I planted last year and which is magnificent. It’s my real pride and joy. They all said it was lovely.

“We’ve got roses in all sorts of shades of red and in pink and orange among about 500 flowers in our garden.”

Mrs Bishop and Graham regularly take part in the annual open gardens event. They were among 16 homeowners involved in the event on June 24.

Some visitors might have been put off by the early bad weather but the sun was shining when the gardens opened.

Joint organiser David Smith said: “We had an excellent day. The weather could not have been better. We raised more than £1,000.

“In our garden, in Nyetimber Lane, we had 98 visitors.”
