Motorcyclist dies in Climping crash

A DRIVER was arrested after a motorcyclist died in a collision in Climping.

His Yamaha bike was in collision with a red Vauxhall Corsa on Sunday afternoon (August 25).

The driver of the Corsa, a 53-year-old woman from Bognor Regis, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. She was bailed until October 26.

The collision happened a few minutes before 2pm in Crookthorn Lane, at the junction with Yapton Road.

Ambulance paramedics were joined by an air ambulance team, but were unable to save the 48-year-old man from Bognor Regis who died at the scene.

The road was closed for just over five hours while rescue, recovery and investigation work took place.
