Motorcyclist seriously injured in Ditchling Common crash

A motorcyclist from South Chailey suffered serious injuries after a car crash in Ditchling Common yesterday morning (Monday, May 30).

Police say the 58-year-old man was riding a black Honda motorbike when it was in collision with a black Vauxhall Astra at around 11.45am in Folders Lane East, close to the entrance to the Ditchling Common car park.

He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton having suffered broken ribs and a collapsed lung.

The driver of the Astra, a 53-year-old man from Crawley, was uninjured.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who have may have seen either vehicle in the area in the time leading up to it is asked to email police on or to call 101 quoting Operation Woodhurst.
