Seventy motorcyclists led by the 1066 Chapter of the Harley Owners Group completed a 50 mile charity run on Saturday (June 21) to raise money for Friends of Sussex Hospices (FSH).

The event was organised by Allan Kelly, an advanced motorcyle instructor with TT Motorcycle School, and Fiona Aldridge, in memory of Fiona’s husband, Danny, who died from cancer last year.

The ride started and finished at Newplace Park in Framfield where bikers were entertained on their return by the world’s highest mobile bungee jump where 20 of them, Fiona and Allan included, leapt from 200 feet.

One intrepid bungee-biker, Andy North, shed his leathers and made the leap in his underpants raising £150 from sponsors straight away. The event raised a total of £3,850.

Kathy Gore, chair of FSH, said: “It was such a fun and exciting event, huge thanks to organisers Fiona, Allan, the 1066 Chapter and to everyone who took part and raised this great sum for our hospices.”
