The cash comes just over six months since the St Leonards Motors Group (SLM), a corporate partner and supporter of The Sara Lee Trust, made a commitment to raise funds for the charity by making a donation for every car sold across the group and expected to raise £3,000 in a year.

However, Dan Redsull, Chief Executive The Sara Lee Trust (SLT) says SLM exceeded that target in just over 6 months. “The group has donated an incredible £3,107 which will help fund the charities essential care and support services, offering local people living with cancer and other life threatening illnesses, free access to specialist counselling, complementary therapies and group support,” he said. “Support from the Business Community is essential to the Trust and we are very pleased that SLM have chosen to support us in this way. Not only will the partnership help improve awareness of and access to our care and support, it will significantly assist with our ability to deliver sustainable services in the future.”

Ian Wakeford, Managing Director of St Leonards Motors Group said: “All of our team feel very proud to be involved in raising money for a great cause that helps our local community.”
