Seven people enjoyed a delicious lunch at Leeford Place on Monday 8th October.

Mountfield Lunch Club were very pleased that Ruby made it despite the fact that she had been unwell at the weekend. We were served by a delightful waiter called Rory. The club will be dining out again on Monday 5th November.

Whilst mentionning November, on Friday 2nd November Mountfield Bonfire will take place in Solomon’s Lane. The gates will open at 6pm and entry will cost £1 per head. Soup, a barbecue and other refreshments will be available. More details nearer the time.

People wishing to book Mountfield Village Hall should ring 07527 598 736 and leave a message with sufficient notice in advance of the event, including details of date/time and nature of hire. The system is manned by volunteers so please allow them time to call you back as they are all busy people!.

Now some news from Mountfield Club;Saturday night saw The Mountfield club hold its first Presentation evening for its 6 club tournaments

The Shove Knockout tournament was won by Wayne Hardy,with runner up Dennis Smith and Steve Sutton finishing third.

The Fred Stace darts knockout trophy was won by Alex Gray with runner up Richard Hayler,and Sam Gray finishing third

The darts pairs was won by Sue Smith & Glen Gurden with Richard Hayler & Sam Gray finishing runners up.

The Snooker singles title was won by Pete Last with runner up Sean Spillett and Alex Gray finishing 3rd.

The snooker doubles was won by Pete Last & Alex Gray with runners up Sean Spillett & Wayne Hardy.

The trophy for the 2012 overall club Champion was won by Alex Gray.

The trophy for the Captains snooker summer player of the year was won by Kevin Gray.

The club would like to thank Steve Smith for arranging all the tournaments and hosting the evening.

Tuesday 1st October saw top of the table Staplehurst visit Mountfield for their Hurst Green & District Division 3 match. Sean Spillet got Mountfield of to a great start winning the first frame,whilst maintaining his only 100% record.

In the second frame despite captain Steve Smith break of 22, Staplehurst pulled level and soon went 2-1 up on the night with C Startup beating Kevin Gray.

After the interval R.Moore beat Andy Saunders and B Summers beat Wayne Hardy to clinch a 4-1 win for Staplehurst.
