Mountfield village voice

On Sunday 5th March, family and friends of Margaret Perring gathered in Mountfield Village Hall to celebrate her 107th birthday. Family members wrote their names on sticky labels and wore them before they went to see the birthday girl who then gave them a shawl or top she had made herself. Margaret had a nice big birthday cake decorated with the number 107. It sounds like everybody who went to the party had a good time including Margaret herself most importantly. Congratulations again to this special resident of Mountfield.

Twelve people dined out with the Mountfield Lunch Club on Monday 5th March. They had a nice meal at Leeford Place and enjoyed seeing the pretty decorations that were still up from a wedding at the weekend.

All Saints Church Mountfield will be closed to the public from April the 16th for approximately 4 weeks for essential repairs to the floor of the Church and services during this period are expected to be held at Netherfield Church with the possibility of one at Brightling Church.

Some readers may be interested in the following event which is taking place not far from Mountfield; On Saturday 24th March, there is a charity Table Top Sale at Robertsbridge Village Hall, Station Road, TN32 5DA in aid of the babies’ charity BLISS (for babies born too soon, too small, too sick). Selling everything from baby equipment to clothes, toys, books, DVDs, crockery, pictures, plants, CDs, stationery, jewellery and anything else you can think of that will fit on a table! With a cake stall, refreshments, raffle and face painting there will be something for everyone and plenty of bargains to be had. Please come along to support a very good cause.
