MP backs calls for better rail service

PEOPLE power is taking on the might of Southern Railway in calling for a better Sunday stopping service on the Rye line.

And campaigners have the backing of Rye MP Amber Rudd who joined them when they made their point on the platform of Winchelsea Station.

The Rye line now has a better stopping service for six days a week following a long and hard-fought campaign, but Sunday remains a problem and is leaving many people isolated while damaging the Rye area’s tourist industry.
