Dr Turner, himself the founder member of an independent brewery, said: Far too many public order problems are caused by excessive drinking. I m not a killjoy, I happen to think drink can be good for you as part of socialising or after a stressful day, but far too much police time is taken up with dealing with the effects of drunkeness.

Local residents often come to me about offences that have been caused by others whilst under the influence as well as about nuisance, such as loutish behaviour when someone is drunk. This campaign has been designed to make young drinkers think about the consequences of excessive drinking-not just on themselves but on others.
