MP Greg welcomesfall in crime figures

MP Greg Barker has welcomed news that crime in Sussex has dropped over the last 12 months.

Latest figures from the Independent Office for National Statistics show that since 2010 recorder crime in the county has fallen by 13 percent.

Mr Barker said: It is great news that crime has fallen.

Local police officers in Sussex can be extremely proud of their success in cutting crime.”

Greg went on to say: “The Government has cut red tape for police and given them one simple target; cut crime. And that is what they are doing.

“This means people are safer on the streets, at home and at work. It helps to build better communities for Sussex.”

Sussex Police has just published its policing plan for the next 12 months and wants to cut crime even further.
