MP keen for small shops to be recognised

TIM LOUGHTON MP is calling for small shops in East Worthing and Shoreham to gain recognition in a national competition.

Mr Loughton hopes many small businesses in his constituency will enter the all-party Parliamentary Best Small Shops Competition which ends next month.

Mr Loughton said: “This is a great opportunity for small independent shops across Adur and Worthing to get recognition for the brilliant work they do supporting the community and creating jobs all year round.”

Small shops can submit their application to the competition via www.bestsmallshops.uk setting out in no more than 500 words why they are the best small shops.

The Best Small Shop will be selected based on a number of criteria including innovation within the business, engagement with the community and entrepreneurial activities.

Winners of the Best Small Shops Competition will be honoured at a presentation at the House of Commons on February 25.

Applications must be submitted by 4pm on January 30.
