Despite adverse weather forecasts and the Crawley Millennium Band repairing to the inside of the building due to some light rain, the fete was well attended.

Entertainment was provided also by OBJAYDA, a local band with some of their own songs, Ken Harvey amused the tea bar area on the electric organ.

There were also 30 stalls, a teacup roundabout, face painting by ‘busydays’, The Red Cross Ambulance and Neighbourhood watch with a visit from a fire engine which was a great favourite with the children.

A vote of thanks was made by Geoff Pearce MC and League of Friends Trustee for the hard work put in by all concerned including the hospital staff, also for those donating items to be sold or for the grand draw and to fellow charity supporters RNLI and Cats Protection for attending.

Jeremy Quin said: “I attended the Fete for the first time last year and was impressed with the warmth and friendliness of the event, and the evidence of a hard working team for this very worthy local cause.”
