MP raises fears over 250-home ‘Yap-town’ plan

PLANS for a 250-home housing development in Yapton have been criticised by the area’s MP who fears it could cause serious damage to the village’s rural character.

Bognor Regis and Littlehampton MP Nick Gibb has this week written to Arun District Council outlining his fears for a large-scale housing development on fields to the north and east of St Mary’s Church.

Mr Gibb claimed that the application, submitted by Keith Langmead, was in confliction with the village’s emerging neighbourhood plan and Arun district’s own local plan.
