Much-needed new equipment is in store for local schools

NEW equipment is delighting pupils at schools around Bognor Regis.

The items have been provided through the annual Tesco for Schools and Clubs promotion.

The initiative’s success was celebrated on September 7 by the company’s Bognor Regis store manager Martin Spanner and children from three schools.

Nick Gibb, the MP for Bognor Regis and neighbouring town Littlehampton, was also present at the Shripney Road store to hand over the equipment on behalf of the supermarket.

Sharon Reynolds, the deputy headteacher of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, said: “We had nearly 16,000 vouchers this year so we could have a lot of equipment.

“They included talking magnifying glasses, stopwatches, video cameras and science equipment.

“The items are already being used.”

The scheme was valuable because it enabled the school to receive goods beyond its budget.

Mr Spanner said: “Tesco for Schools and Clubs is a scheme which my team are proud to be
part of.”

Mr Gibb paid tribute to Tesco for its corporate responsibility with the scheme and its aims.
