Multicultural day to promote safety in Bognor Regis

COMMUNITY safety will go multicultural in Bognor Regis for Christmas today (Saturday, December 13).

The emergency services have teamed up to raise awareness of fire, road and personal safety over the festive period.

It will take place from 11am-2pm today in the London Road precinct.

Attractions will include a Santa’s grotto with free gifts, live music supported by Rox Music and Arts, Polish bakery products from Blue Bakery and free tasters from Papryka restaurant.

There will also be the chance to help create the 12 Days of Christmas community film and to meet members of Arun District Council, Victim Support and Neighbourhood Watch.

Dave Benham, the Bognor station manager for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, said: “Bognor is a vibrant and culturally diverse town.

“So, we want to ensure this event and our advice reflects that diversity and is as inclusive as possible.”

Chief Inspector Pip Taylor, of Sussex Police, said: “We are very privileged to have such a diverse and vibrant community in Bognor.

“This event is to celebrate our differences and include as many people as possible to enjoy it.”
