Mum's inspiration is kidney transplant son

A mother whose son needs a kidney transplant is to run a marathon to raise money for Kidney Research UK.

Marathon mum Sue Gorringe from Lewes will take on the ultimate 27-mile ordeal.

The London Marathon on April 22 will be Sue's first attempt at the daunting distance.

'You may ask why anyone would put themselves through a challenge like this, especially as I am 46,' said Sue, a community nurse of North Way,

'I have only been running seriously for the past two years.

'However, my son Sam, who is 12, has end-stage renal failure and will soon need a kidney transplant.

'My family and friends have spurred me on, supporting my training, and listened to me moan when I ache all over.'

Added Sue: 'If people feel they are able to support this worthwhile cause, then please view my fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/gorringe for more information and hopefully pledge a donation.
