MUM'S SKYDIVE CHALLENGE

Daredevil mum Rachel Hince raised £2,000 for charity when she did a tandem skydive last month and donations are still coming in.

Rachel from Barons Down Road, Lewes, steeled her nerves to experience about 50 seconds freefall followed by several minutes parachuting to ground in a perfect landing.

'It was the most exhilarating, terrifying, awesome thing that I have ever done in my life and I was just so relieved to hear the parachute canopy opening and secondly to feel my feet on solid ground again,' said Rachel, who has a fear of heights.

All the money raised is going to the charity CLIC Sargent which supported her family when son Paul was seriously ill with cancer. Rachel said it was very satisfying to be able to give something back to the charity.

'I'd like to thank all the local shops and businesses that supported me with the fund-raising, particularly Winterbourne Stores, Lewes, who raised 82 in loose change in one of my collection jars. A big thank you also to St Pancras Primary School and St Pancras RC Church.
