Murder trial begins

A HEAVY drinker murdered his friend by slitting his throat in a drunken row over food and the situation in Iraq, a court heard.

Robert Morris, 40, allegedly cut the jugular vein of 44-year-old Grant Flame with a Stanley knife at Morris' flat in Broadwater Road, Worthing.

Mr Flame sustained an horrific 14cm long and 2cm deep gaping wound in the incident one evening in January and died soon after staggering outside.

Paramedics were unable to save

The hearing at Lewes Crown Court started on Tuesday.

Morris denies murder. The case continues.
