Music festival decision postponed

Controversial plans to move a four-day music festival to Sedlescombe will not be up for discussion by the council for another month.

Organisers of the Black Horse Music Festival, which traditionally takes place at the Telham pub over the May Bank Holiday, have applied to move the event to the Pestalozzi International Village.

Plans for the site include a large marquee, smaller stage, spaces for craft stalls and a campsite.

The application has attracted objections from nearly 30 residents, who have expressed concerns about noise from music and visitors, crime and disorder and public safety from increased traffic.

The plans were due to be discussed at a meeting of Rother District Council's Licensing and General Purposes Committee General Licensing Panel on Monday.

But councillors adjourned the hearing for a specialist noise report to be prepared.

The application will be discussed at Bexhill Town Hall on March 9.
