Name plates employees get together

Former employees of a Bognor Regis company have been invited to meet up for the first time in a decade.

Paul Bromley and Carol Janman are organising an initial reunion for those who worked at Butler Jones Nameplates before it shut in 1999.

The nostalgic get-together will take place at 7pm on May 30 at the Ship Inn, in Aldwick Street, Aldwick.

Butler Jones employed about 150 people during its long history in three units on the Durban Road industrial estate.

Mr Bromley worked there for 21 years and the firm had celebrated its silver anniversary before his arrival.

He knew of some loyal employees who had been there for 30 years.

"We've got 50 people interested in coming along to the reunion so far," he said.

"It will be good to see some old friends who we haven't seen for such a long time."

He and Carol met there and many other relationships began at the friendly workplace. The couple can be contacted on 01243 586178 for more details about the reunion.
