Natasha Richardson's Worthing-based sister-in-law speaks about the tragic death of the actress

NATASHA Richardson's sister-in-law from Worthing has paid tribute to the award-winning actress, calling her "a warm and generous, lovely woman".

Bernadette Sexton, of Richmond Road, said her family had been left "bewildered" by Natasha's death.

The 58-year-old sister of actor Liam Neeson, Natasha's husband, has had a steady stream of people arriving at her home this week to pay their condolences.

She said: "Natasha was just a warm and generous, lovely woman. We last met up last Easter but I have spoken to her since on the phone. She was brilliant and full of life.

"I have spoken to Liam but I'd rather not say, it's too personal. We're just completely bewildered and just wish we could turn the clock back."

Natasha, 45, died from head injuries after a seemingly minor fall while skiing in Canada on Monday, March 16.

Natasha was from the highly-esteemed Redgave acting dynasty. Her mother is actress Vanessa Redgrave, her sister Joely is also an actress and her father was the film director Tony Richardson.

Mrs Sexton said: "All I can say to you is we spent last Easter with her and my 17-year-old son Pascal who has Downs Syndrome was much loved by Natasha.

"She went to great pains to include him in everything, even an Easter egg hunt, and that just sums up the type of warm and caring person that she was.

"She was just a wonderful friend, sister-in-law and auntie to my kids. She's been a tower of strength to us in hard times in the past.

"She's also been there for my other sons and daughters - Emily, 34, Conor, 31, Louis, 29, Manus, 26 and Ronan, 24."
