RINGMER was one of the first 17 communities in England funded to develop the pioneer generation of Neighbourhood Plans.
Ringmer Parish Council is responsible for leading the village through the process.
The plan will cover the village’s development for the next 20 years – “Ringmer to 2030”. The overall thrust is to make the village a more sustainable community, by providing more local employment, and so reducing the need for local people to commute to work.
A series of public meetings were held in November and December last year to consider possible policies in the following areas:
•to protect and enhance Ringmer’s countryside
•to improve the employment opportunities available in Ringmer
•about the types and locations of new housing the Ringmer community will need
•about the new social and leisure facilities needed
•and about Ringmer’s infrastructure needs
