Mouse Lane has been the centre of controversy following numerous complaints to the council of heavy flooding.

Although a fixed date is yet to be confirmed for the drainage work to commence, county councillor for Bramber Castle David Barling said it was ‘very imminent’.

He said: “I would like to pay tribute to the local residents for undertaking this preliminary work and for the parish councillor Gill Muncey for organising so much of the detail.

At the Steyning Parish Council meeting on Monday, Mrs Muncey said the road will be closed for one day, but plenty of notice will be given prior to this.
