Netherfield

Netherfield Post Office/Shop/Cafe: As with all projects requiring a substantial amount of alteration work to change the look and facilities on offer in a shop, it is sometimes difficult to predict precisely when the work will be finished. There is a hope from all those involved that sometime in January 2016 customers will be able to sip on a “latte” whilst eating a portion of gateaux or cake as it was once known. The cafe/coffee shop is one of the imaginative ideas put into being through joint ventures with Post Office Ltd and the Netherfield Village Shop to secure its future. It is no longer paid a retainer by the Post Office to provide all those services that we need in the village. So please “use it or lose it”. To help people make suggestions on how to make the shop and cafe more relevant to them there is a survey form available in store. Please complete and know that you could make a difference.

Home-made Cake Tasting: For those of you who can’t resist the delights of a portion of cake, gateaux or tart there is a tasting taking place in the Netherfield Village Shop, or maybe even the new cafe, on Friday 15 January 2016 from 2-4pm. This will decide what will be offered for sale in the new coffee shop once it is up and running. Can you resist the thought of sampling something creamy and naughty?

Netherfield Coffee Shop: Janette would like all her customers to suggest a name for the new coffee shop/cafe. A box is available in store for all those ideas that you wish to put forward. The winner will receive a bottle of wine so make sure your name and contact details are written on your entry.
