Last Sunday the All Age Worship service at Netherfield was taken by the Revd. John Hawkins as Ann-Marie is on a well earned holiday. Deaf Awareness Week – May 5-9. East Sussex Hearing Resource Centre (ESHRC) is a local charity providing practical help, advice and support to anyone living in the County with hearing loss. Some of the key services that we provide include sign language classes, lipreading classes, support groups, drop-in days to try out equipment to help maintain independence, hearing screening test, deaf awareness training, the supply and installation of equipment on behalf of Adult Social Services, and hearing aid batteries and maintenance on behalf of the local NHS service. As a hearing charity one of our primary aims is to try and educate the general public by breaking down some of the barriers that cause frustration and isolation that so many hard of hearing people experience on a daily basis, such as poorly maintained / non-working loops in public places, using simple communication tactics such as, facing the person you are talking to and make sure you have their attention, do not shout and keeping background noise to a minimum. For more information about our services please telephone Eastbourne 01313 722505 or log on to www.eshrc.org.uk
