Last chance to take part - DDARA Youth Group is entering both the Scarecrow Competition and the Battle Town Carnival. We are asking for any help people can give us the theme is British Armed Forces The carnival is on June 29. Any children wanting to take part please contact Marrissa on 01424 838106.

Netherfield Church - Our thanks again to the White Hart for hosting yet another quiz in aid of our church. A brilliant evening with £130 raised towards our running costs. Without such support from the local community it would be even more of a struggle to keep going.

Our Patronal Festival service last Sunday was well attended and obviously had a theme of St John the Baptist throughout. The service was taken by Father Christopher Channer and was followed by a suitably summery celebration of Pimms and nibbles! Sadly this had to be in the church because of the lack of summer weather and the continuing strong breeze. It was good to see the congregation relaxed, chatting and enjoying themselves. Thank you to all who contributed and especially to the ladies who provided the delightful floral displays.

The service this Sunday June 30 will be at Brightling and will be an Evensong at 6 pm. led by the choir from Waldron. Paul Smith, Churchwarden.

WHITE HART - There are various groups meeting throughout the month including Boules, The Rover group, The Harley Davidson group, TR Cars and The Breakaway Club, if you would like to know more about any of the dates and times or the darts and football teams please give Sean a ring on 01424 838382. White Hart boules pitch. The pieste is free to use, any clubs please feel free to come and use the pieste, FOC any time except match days which are Saturday afternoons throughout the season. THE MOBILE LIBRARY will be outside the shop from 11.50 – 12.10 on Friday’s July 5 and 19.
