Nevill

GOOD NEIGHBOUR SCHEME: There should be a notice through your letter box soon regarding Nevill Residents which has a questionnaire attached relating to helping on our estate. What a good idea for anyone needing a little support in the home or a lift to the Doctors or might be house bound and in need of a little company. In today's fast paced life, how lovely that a group of like minded people come together to offer a little assistance to someone in need.

ST MARY’S SUPPORTERS CLUB: Bingo tonight, Friday, starting at 8.30pm. Cash prizes and raffle. All welcome.

WALLANDS SCHOOL: We entered the Southover football tournament with 10 teams participating; We had three wins and one loss, and finished second in our group putting us through to the semi finals. After a tense match we finished 1-0 to go through to the final, the other semi final match was concluded after a rather dramatic and tense penalty shoot out. Wallands played Ringmer, the teams were very even but a successful cross by Ringmer left them victorious. Mrs Taylor reported that although the boys were obviously disappointed at not winning, they were gracious in their defeat and she was impressed with their display of sportsmanship throughout the afternoon. The Lewes District League matches have got under way and two excellent games were played, with lots of parental support. Boccia, our local school games organiser invited 14 teams to participate in a brand new friendly Boccia Tournament open to Yr 5, 6, 7 and 8, Wallands entered two teams. Mr Perry took 10 children over to Eastbourne, and he said it was a well organised competition with everything extremely visual for all the children to understand. Mr Perry said the atmosphere during play was really lovely, with everyone shaking hands and being very supportive. One of our teams finished second overall and received certificates. Our table tennis club all participated in the East Sussex Schools U11 tournament held in St Leonards with teams from around the region competing. We entered three teams of two boys and one girl’s. We had a fun, successful, if long, afternoon, with lots of games played. One of the boys and the girl’s team both received silver medals, the other team finished fourth. Well done to all involved.
