GUENSEY: We have just returned from a short holiday in Guernsey. What a beautiful island and the weather was great. We stayed in St Martins just outside the capital of St Peters Port and it was easy to get around as they have a very efficient bus service. There are no concessions, only for the islanders, but you could go all round the island for £1 or you can buy a Puffin Pass which allows you to travel for 55p a journey. A bargain and well worth it. We loaded the card up with £15 and it lasted us the five days. The best visit for me was the house of Victor Hugo who was exiled on the Island. He is of course famous for Les Miserables and it is an amazing house of mystery and intrigue. It is only open in the summer months as it is run by students who give very good tours which you need to book in advance as you cannot roam freely around the house, but it has fabulous views from the garden where you can wonder around freely.

We still have room for more children so if you are a carer with a pre-school child we would be happy to see you from 9.30am this morning (Friday).
