The 20 helpers at Bognor Regis’ 4Sight store this week moved into bigger premises.

They were set to open for business around the corner from their previous shop today (Monday, January 5).

The short distance from inside The Arcade to its unit on the corner of York Road/Belmont Street will give the charity more prominence.

4Sight helps people across West Sussex who are blind or partially sighted.

Store manager Sarah Brooks said the new store would make a big difference.

“It will raise our profile quite a lot and we will still be within The Arcade. That’s important because people know where we are and everyone in The Arcade looks after each other. We don’t want to lose that friendship.

“The new shop area is probably 25 per cent bigger and we will also have a much bigger office,” she said.

“That will enable us to sell small secondhand furniture as well as some previously used visual aids.

“Having more office space will mean we can start accepting donations with Gift Aid, because of the need for more room to keep them separate from other donations, which will raise extra money.”

The previous shop closed on Christmas Eve after six years

Sarah said more volunteers were always needed to help at the shop.
