New book will help new mums
WORKING as a counsellor at Steyning Health Centre prompted Lynn Bertram to set up Stepping Stones in 1995 to help early-post-natal women.
Now she has written a book based on her work, called Supporting Postnatal Women Into Motherhood, which she hopes will encourage other health professionals to run similar groups.
In 2005 it seemed as if the Stepping Stones service would have to end through lack of funding. But a group of women who had previously attended formed a fundraising group called Stepping Forward and ensured its continued success.
