Work on building the new Newhaven Fire Station and Community hub is progressing well.
As well as housing the fire station, the building will provide accommodation for Sussex Police and Lewes District Council.
It will provide a joined-up service in the heart of the community with ease of access from the town centre for drop-in facilities.
In the last month, contractors have completed the installation of the precast concrete floor planks, structural concrete topping and concrete staircases. They are putting up secondary steel work on the upper floors to get the building semi-weather tight.
The Topping Out ceremony (traditionally held when the last beam is placed atop the structure) will occur on August 5 and the project is due to be completed in November.
A time lapse video of the construction is available to view at www.communityfirestationproject.com/video.html.
