Canon John Edmondson, Dean of Battle, blessed the flags and Daisy and Kitty (both pictured centre) proudly carried them out of church escorted by Charlotte and Sacha. Kitty (second from left- ) and her family presented the Brownies’ leaders with an oak flag stand made from a fallen tree in their garden. The symmetry of old and new is timely for the Brownies who are celebrating their centenary this year. The new brightly coloured flags are in the latest GirlGuiding branding which brings a fresh and modern feel to the organisation .

The flags will be carried through Battle as part of the parade remembering the fallen at the Remembrance parade on Sunday 9th November.

Hannah said “It was fun singing at the church and to know our harvest gifts are going to the foodbank people. We like our new flag it is brighter than our old one .”
