New footbridge

A new footbridge to Eastergate Primary School will be built within a year. The structure will cross the neighbouring rife to provide a new rear access to the Church Lane school.

The 60,000 estimated cost of the bridge has been included in the county council's highways and transport budget for the coming 12 months.

The bridge will also link an existing footpath from Westergate Community School and residential area to the primary school.

It will remove the need for pupils and parents to walk along a narrow road without pavements.
