The 2016 Battle Visitor Guide promotes the town as a forward-looking town with a massive historical legacy and shows how both the ancient and modern complement each other perfectly, according to Battle Marketing Group.

Included in the guide is Battle Abbey’s plans to open the Great Gatehouse roof for the first time and the museum having free entry throughout 2016.

“Next year is so important for the town and the surrounding area, and this guide illustrates excellently what a great place Battle is to visit, and I am sure visitor numbers will break all records.”

The group, with the support of 1066 Country Marketing, commissioned a professional photographer to capture the essence of Battle High Street.

You should spot some familiar faces in the new guide, which features the town’s attractions, eateries, retailers, accommodation and a comprehensive events listing.

The guide announces the Battle Town Council strapline, Battle: Site of the 1066 Battle of Hastings, and incorporates the new town logo.

More copies have been printed than last year, 140,000 to be precise which is 20,000 more than the 2015 guide.

It will be distributed in London and across the South East, as well as in more than 800 outlets across 1066 country such as hotels, self-catering accommodation and campsites.

The guide will also be distributed at UK and overseas tourism exhibitions by 1066 Country Marketing.

The 2016 guide is available now at various venues in town, two of which will be the new visitor information point in the Almonry porch or Battle Museum of Local History.

If you have a business in Battle and would like to collect a handful to give out to customers, these can be collected from the Almonry during normal opening hours.

Further supplies can be ordered from the distribution company, details of which can be obtained from any member of the Battle Marketing Group.
