A long serving volunteer at the Cards for Good Causes Shop officially declared the store open on Saturday October 11.
Pepita de Foote welcomed customers into the shop’s new home at historic Lewes House in School Hill.
And Dirk Campbell played his bagpipes to announce the opening.
The shop will be open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm until December 17.
The best seller on the opening day was the card designed by Lyndsey Smith, sold in aid of SASBAH, depicting many famous Lewes people from the past and present skating on the Pells Swimming Pool.
A print of this picture, donated by King Framers and Lewes Print Centre, will be the first prize in the raffle.
The second prize, donated by Pells Pool Community Association, will be a jigsaw of the same design.
Customers who purchase either Christmas cards or goods such as wrapping paper and small gifts will receive a free raffle ticket for every £10 spent in the shop.
The lucky winners will be drawn on Saturday December 13 at noon.
Lewes House dates back to 1733. It was previously the home of Lewes District Council.
The first and second floors at Lewes House have now been let to small businesses, while the ground floor is available for private hire. The council welcomes enquiries from other interested parties for pop-up events or exhibitions at the venue.
