New Olympic stamps on sale in Felpham

Postmaster Keith Hellyer is one of just 500 across the country chosen by his bosses to stock the limited-edition philatelic mementoes.

Selling them means his post office on Felpham Road will be open from 9am to midday on three Sundays from July 27 as well as its usual hours the other days of the week.

He said: “The stamps will be a unique reminder of London 2012. They will be issued each time a British person or team wins a gold medal.

“Each stamp will go on sale the day after the triumph with the name of the winner or the team and will show what they have won and where.”

Mr Hellyer said he believed he was chosen to sell the stamps because of his regular trade in first-day covers.
